The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has listed items which it said remained prohibited for the over 1.8 million candidates taking the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The board has warned that candidates who breach the directive would be disallowed from taking the UTME. Candidates are hereby required to properly examine the list and take note of the prohibited items, in order to avoid complications during the UTME exercise.

You might be asking yourself,  how can I prepare for JAMB exam within the shortest possible time? I will say to you that it is very possible to prepare for JAMB within a short period of time. The JAMB exam is expected to to commence few weeks from now. If you have not been preparing like you should. Then this blog post is absolutely for you.
Preparing for JAMB within few weeks involves some tweaks and tricks,  at this point it depends on how smart and serious you are.
How To Prepare for JAMB Exam Few Weeks To The Date
Here are the tricks and tweaks;
1. Focus More On JAMB syllabus 
 When you want to read your textbooks or notebooks, don't just read blindly from different topics,  Using JAMB syllabus to narrow your reading is very helpful.  In the JAMB syllabus,  the topics to be studied are outline and whatever you need to know on the topic is also outlined.  This will help you read straightforward not blindly.
2.  Use The JAMB Past Questions More Frequently
 The truth is there is no longer new questions,  JAMB keeps recycling questions every year. Take advantage of this and study the Past Questions more frequently, this will make it easier for you if you come across same kind of question you saw in the past questions.  Sometimes, JAMB doesn't repeat the questions word for word, that's  why it is important you revise the past questions diligently. I strongly advise you download one of the best JAMB CBT Mobile App (for android mobile phones) and JAMB CBT Software (for Desktops and Laptops). 3.  Make Use Of The Recommended Textbooks 
JAMB questions are usually brought out directly from some textbooks,  these textbooks are recommended by JAMB. Using this textbook will help you in your three weeks preparation.
4. Join Any Brainstorming Group On Facebook 
There are different groups on Facebook where you can join brainstorming session. In this groups,  they ask questions and the members provide answers to the questions , then corrections are provided after the brainstorming.  I personally  recommend "UI brainstorming group".

The spokesman of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr Fabian Benjamin has stated that due to the fact that the date for the 2019 UTME has not been officially confirmed, the reprinting of the 2019 exam slip will not possibly commence on March 2nd, 2019 as earlier envisaged.
He said as it is now, no date has been fixed for the main examination and there is no way anybody can print examination notification slip when the examination date, itself, has not been fixed.
Date For Reprinting of 2019 JAMB Exam Slip Has Not Been Confirmed - JAMB
He added that when the actual date for the 2019 UTME has been finally determined, the reprinting of the exam slip will commence two weeks to that date.
The fact that the actual JAMB exam date has not been determined does not mean that candidates should relax on their preparations towards the examination. Candidates are advised to actually intensify their preparation. The JAMB 2019 Registration Begins Today, 10th January, 2019. Here is the JAMB Registration Template for 2019 UTME. This document will help you go through a smooth registration process, as all relevant information required by the Accredited JAMB CBT Centre has been provided on the form. Please download and print it for free.
This is a 2 page Pdf document that contains all the information that you will be required to provide at the accredited centre for your UTME Registration. Candidates are advised to download and fill the 2019 registration template correctly before proceeding to an accredited centre for registration.

This is to ensure you make right decisions concerning your choices and selections before your actual registration. This will help you eliminate most of the registration mistakes candidates often make.

The JAMB Registration Form e-Pin is required to register for 2019 UTME. Without the e-pin, no accredited CBT registration centre will accept your request. On the other hand, before you can pay for your e-pin, you must get a profile code. Without the profile code, you can't make payment for the e-pin. This guide will give you steps on how to get your e-pin to enable you register for 2019 UTME.
Here are the steps that would be required by all JAMB applicants, before commencing registration in any Accredited CBT Centre;
1. Each candidate will be registered with one mobile phone number only. The Cell phone number used to create the profile code is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2019 Application/Examination.
2. Candidate sends his/her name [Surname, First Name & Middle Name (if any)] by text (SMS) to 55019. This should be maximum of 38 characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all
3. A Profile Code is received by the candidate on the same telephone number
4. The candidate presents the Profile Code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form ePIN is then sent as text message to the candidate.
5. The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration
You are advised to wait until the registration begins on 10th January before performing any of the procedures above. The above information is simply to prepare your mind for what's to come. There's absolutely no need to rush the process. Please note that the above 5 steps will be performed before a candidate visit the accredited CBT Centres for registration.
More details will be provided on 10th January, to confirm whether or not the above procedures have been finalized.
With this announcement, all prospective candidates are urged to kick start their preparation towards the 2019 UTME, which begins in March. For a start, candidates are advised to use the 2019 JAMB Brochure, to confirm the courses they intend to study, requirements and schools that offer such courses. Also, the 2019 JAMB Syllabus  will help guide you on the topics you are required to cover for each of the subjects you will be taking in 2019 UTME.

After Release of 2018 JAMB Results, What Next? Here's What To DoWe can say that the 2018 JAMB UTME has officially been concluded. While some candidates are counting their gains, others are counting their losses.
Which ever category you fall in, we just want you to know that a high JAMB score is not an automatic ticket to higher institution neither does a low JAMB score automatically disqualify you for admission.
We have seen candidates with high JAMB scores who failed to gain admission into any institution and had to retake JAMB and we have equally seen candidates with low JAMB Scores (Less than 200) who gained admission without having to wait for another JAMB.
So basically, a low or high JAMB score is not the ultimate determinant of who gains and who doesn't gain admission.
So at this point, what we expect all 2018 JAMB candidates to do is to ask the following critical questions?
>> What is my school's cut-off mark ?
>> What is the cut-off mark for my intended course of study?
>> Do I need a change of course/institution?
>> What's the school's Post-UTME Screening like?
>> How Can I prepare adequately for my school's Post-UTME Screening?
The answer to these critical questions will help you know what next step to take towards successfully securing admission this year.
And let's quickly tell you this, take off the retarding mindset that you can not go to a polytechnic. Are they for animals?
If going by your score, you stand a better chance of gaining admission in a polytechnic, for goodness sake, change your institution to a polytechnic if you didn't pick one during your JAMB registration. Unless of course you don't mind patronising JAMB next year. And if that is the case, good luck to you!

Candidates who participated in the 2018 JAMB Mock exam are eager to know the result of the just concluded exam and have been asking questions on when they should expect it.

At the moment, we have not received any confirmation concerning the release of the mock result.
JAMB Mock Exam Results 2018 - Any Message Yet?
JAMB may either send the results to candidates that participated via emails or text messages. An official link for candidates to check it via JAMB portal may also be provided.
Based on previous experience, the results are usually released within 48 hours or so. However, we do not know for sure how long it may take for the 2018 Mock results to be released.
Therefore, we will use this thread to monitor when the results for the JAMB Mock Exams will be released.
Please feel free to let us know if you have received any message from JAMB concerning the release of results for the 2018 Mock Exam.

It is no more news that the much awaited JAMB Mock exam for 2018 UTME candidates will finally hold on Monday February 26th, 2018.
If you are among those that will be writing the exam, please do take it serious as you may likely pick one or two things that will help you in the main examination.

Also do not forget that other candidates that won't be partcipating in the exam will depend on you for updates and relevant information concerning the conduct of the mock exam. So please take note of everything that is happening in your centre and keep us updated.

While in the hall, please take note of everything but most importantly; 
1. Check if there are CCTV Cameras 
2. Check if the Computer systems are special in anyway 
3. When you login to take an exam, check how the CBT environment is laid out. 
4. Where is the time Located, Where are your Subject Navigation Located, Where are the Question Numbers Located, e.t.c. 
5. Check if you can use both Keyboard and Mouse. 
6. Check the time given for the exam 
7. Check the number of questions given. 
8. Finally check if there is any thing new with the whole process.
Ensure you arrive your centre at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time. 
If you are going to the exam with any of the banned items, ensure you keep them some where safe outside the hall to avoid being punished or disqualified.

Official Link to Print JAMB Mock Exam Slip for 2018
JAMB has now released a NEW official link and procedures to print the 2018 JAMB Mock Exam Slip for the exam holding on 26th February, 2018.
This procedure is especially useful for those who may have provided wrong emails during registration, or those who didn't receive the email sent by JAMB, due to network issues.

Please note that it is best you follow the procedures below using a computer system, to enable you print it immediately.
The smart phone users can actually save the slip on their mobile phone to print later.
Please don't user Opera-Mini for this to be on the safe side. You can use Chrome or Firefox.

Procedures to Print 2018 JAMB Mock Exam Slip

1. Visit the official JAMB Mock Exam Printing Portal by clicking here
2. In the form space provided, enter your JAMB registration number or Email used to register
3. Click "Print Examination Slip" for the Pop-Up to Print.
For those who did not indicate to write the Mock Exam, you will most likely not be given access to print any slip.

Have You Received Your JAMB 2018 Mock Exam Slip?
We believe by now a good number of candidates that will be participating in the mock exam must have received a notification from JAMB concerning their venue and Time.
If you have received yours, that’s good. By now you should be warming up for the Mock exam which comes up on Monday, February 26th, 2018.

If you have not received yours and you’re sure you selected mock exam during registration, keep checking your mail for such notification.
It is possible that the notifications are being sent in batches and that means it may take between now to at least Saturday before all qualified candidates for the mock exam will get theirs.
Always make sure you check both the inbox and SPAM folder of your email for the notification.
Remember the mock examination is only to help you get familiar with the whole JAMB CBT exam set up. And for the fact that you really need all the preparation you can get now, we won’t fail to equally remind you all, whether you are participating in the mock exam or not to download the JAMB CBT Mobile App for 2018 UTME and/or 2018 JAMB CBT Computer Software from Myschool if you have not done so. By now, we're sure you all know that the JAMB Mock Exam for the 2017 UTME has been confirmed to hold on February 26th, 2018.
Many UTME candidates seem not to know if they are qualified to partake in the mock examination or not.

Let’s quickly clear the confusion so you know if you are qualified or not.
In as much as a lot of you would like to write the Mock Exam, not everyone is entitled to write it.
If you did not select to write the exam during registration, you are simply not qualified to partake in the mock examination.

Also, if you are unable to print you mock exam slip or get a notification from JAMB concerning the mock exam schedule; it equally means you are not qualified for the mock exam.
Whatever be the case, you do not have anything to worry about. You can have same mock exam experience by downloading and practicing with the JAMB CBT Mobile App, JAMB CBT Software for Computer Systems or by using the Free Online JAMB CBT Exam Platform

Without mincing words, the answer to the question above is study as hard as you can. How well you study with the remaining time before the examination will hugely impact your success in the end.
What score are you aiming at? This is the time to work towards it. If you ask candidates that had their confidence on that last year, they wouldn't hesitate to share their tale of woes with you. That is if they are truthful. So if you ask me, that option is a dead end.
Having said that, the first thing you need to do now is to get to know the topics you are expected to cover for each subject you will be taking using the Latest JAMB Syllabus. You can access that by clicking here.
Another important thing you shouldn't neglect is practicing JAMB CBT Past Questions regularly. You can do that either using our Online JAMB CBT Platform, Mobile App or Desktop/Laptop Software.
If you do not have a personal Computer, an Android Mobile Phone or Tablet, you can visit any of the JAMB CBT Training Centres we have provided to practice JAMB Past Questions and equally learn how to use the Keyboard or Mouse to answer JAMB questions.

Recently,  i got a message from a student saying " sir,  what are the things i should do inorder for me to make my admission successful", although i answered the student immediately but i felt that i should make a post out of the question so that other aspirants will benefit from the answer.  But before i begin to explain things you should do for a successful admission,  i will implore you,  the aspirants that have any question or any topic you think i should emphasize on,  then you can comment below or you can post it here.



Firstly,  i will want you to know that transparency is university's admission processes is not certain,  so despite you meeting the requirements for admission,  you "might" still be denied admission, it happens.  

Having take note of that,  then carefully read the below post,  you can ask questions if you have any through the comment box.


1. Complete o'level result-



O'level result is the number one factor you should put in place.  Your o'level might be waec, neco or gce ( all are acceptable in Nigerian universities). You "must" have pass in all your needed subjects.  For example,  you are aspiring for medicine and surgery into University of Lagos,  but in your o'level result,  you had D7 in biology,  this is an automatic "No" to your admission.  The minimum grade you should have in your WAEC is "C6" , above this grade (D7, E8 & F9)  are unacceptable in Nigerian universities. Also you should know that using one sitting result is an additional advantage to you,  you might ask that what additional advantage am i referring to?  Then click here to read this post on the possible disadvantages of using two sitting result. 


2. Correct JAMB subject combination-


This is another important part  where some of the aspirants get it entirely wrong.  When you have made a decision about the course you want to study ( if you are still thinking of a course to study,  read here), immediately you should get a JAMB brochure ( a book that consist of all the courses in Nigerian universities and their subject combinations).  Choosing the wrong subject combination for your course in JAMB can not be amended after sitting for the exam. For example,  an aspirant of UNIBEN choosed pharmacy as his preferred course, then he included mathematics as part of the subject combination,  this is am automatic "No" to your admission into UNIBEN. Make sure you use the JAMB brochures before registering for JAMB exam.


3. Having high score in JAMB



 Although having high mark does not guarantee your admission into a university, because i have seen alot of students with high marks like 280, 298 even 300, that was denied admission into the university due to one reason or the other. But having high mark in JAMB increase your chances of being admitted. Inorder to have an high mark in JAMB,  i have written on tips on passing JAMB exam,  read it here.


4. Having high score in post JAMB-



Having high score in JAMB exam is not enough to secure your admission slot,  you also need to pass your post JAMB as well. Always aim for an high score in your exam. Alot of aspirants' admission pursuit are being cut short in this post JAMB despite the student having high JAMB score. I made a post on how to pass post JAMB exam, read it here
Lastly;

5. Meet up with the cut off mark-



Cut off mark is what will be used to check if you eligible for the admission slot or not.  It is no news that alot of students are seeking for admission into the universities, this might affect the cut off mark.  If you want to know what factors determine the cut off mark,  then read here. 

If you,  the aspirants can have a pass mark in all the things i list above,  i see no reason why you should be admitted into the school of your choice and also given the course of your choice.

As a result of what i am seeing online concerning some "jambites" that does not have idea of the dates of the exam and reprint,  i decided to come up with this post.

Having said that, see the dates that are important to know as a jambites in 2018;

JAMB REGISTRATION

The expected deadline for the 2018 UTME registration is February 6th, 2018. That's barely two weeks from now. We are not sure at the moment if the deadline will be extended. Candidates who intend to register for 2018 UTME are therefore advised to make sure they do so before the stated deadline.
Be that as it may, we are equally aware of the fact that certain issues and problems may surface during the registration which may hinder the smooth and successful registration of some candidates.
Well, if you are one of the candidates who have registered but made one or two mistakes that need to be corrected or if you are among those that due to one issue or the other have been unable to successfully complete your registrations, this thread is a solution platform for you.
Use the comment box to point out whatever issue you are facing with the 2018 UTME registration. Myschoolers who have solutions to the problems will give their responses on the issues. An Admin will equally intervene where needed.
However, we enjoin all who will be proffering solutions to issues here to ensure they have an honest solution to the problem to avoid misleading others.

How to check admission status on JAMB caps


Having noticed that some students are still not aware that they can check their admission on CAPS ( Central Admission Processing System) on their phones , i have decided to come up with this tutorial. In this tutorial,  you will learn how to use your phone to check your admission on CAPS,  checking it on computer is a bit easier but the steps are the same.

Before i proceed,  the requirements for this tutorial is just your phone ( an Android device), google chrome browser and also you to set the browser to "desktop mode".  Below are the steps of using phone to check admission status on CAPS;

STEP 1.

Visit JAMB website  www.jamb.org.ng . It will direct you to a page where you will be asked to click "create or login account".

STEP 2.

 After clicking on "create or login account ", you will be directed to where you will typed your email address and your "JAMB account password".

STEP 3.

After you have typed your email address and you password,  you will be directed to your JAMB account. Now that you have successfully login into your JAMB account, you  will see where i "circled" at the top right corner,  then click it.


STEP 4.

Then it will direct you to a page where you will see the CAPS link.

STEP 5.

Then you will click the link and you will be directed to the CAPS site.

STEP 6.

Now that you have successfully made it to the CAPS site,  then you will go to the top left corner and click "adnission status".

STEP 7.

Then you can accept your admission if you have been admitted.  Please don't do the mistake of clicking "reject admission", alot of students made the mistake.

Also take note on your admission status, you might see this;

Admitted: It means you have been given admission by the University and it has been approved by JAMB.
Admission in Progress:  It means you have been offered admission by the University but JAMB have not yet approve it.
Not Admitted: It means you were not offered admission into the university.


Don't forget to switch the browser to desktop mode or else it won't work

Registration for the 2018 UTME is currently on-going, and we understand some candidates may have made some errors during the registration. The good news is that you can now correct such errors using the JAMB Short Code (55019).
Please note that this request can only be done using the mobile number used to create the profile.
To correct the name currently on your registration form, send the correct SURNAME, FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAME as a text message to 55019. Example; AHMED, JOHN, BUKOLA to 55019. Remember this request has to be done using the mobile number used in creating the profile.
