Medicine, Pharmacy & Health Sciences Faculty has emerged the most applied Faculty in the concluded 2019 JAMB UTME Registration. A total of 435,897 candidates applied for various courses under this faculty, with more applications coming from Female Candidates in the faculty. 275,323 female candidates applied, while 160,574 Male candidates applied into the faculty. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has listed items which it said remained prohibited for the over 1.8 million candidates taking the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The board has warned that candidates who breach the directive would be disallowed from taking the UTME. Candidates are hereby required to properly examine the list and take note of the prohibited items, in order to avoid complications during the UTME exercise.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed Saturday March 23rd, 2019 as the new date for the conduct of the 2019 UTME mock exam. The board has also directed all eligible candidates for the mock exam to commence the printing of their mock examination notification slips as from Wednesday March 6th, 2019 in order to know their venue and time for the mock exam.
The actual date for the main exam is yet to be announced by the board but a source hinted that the exam has been shifted to April 16th, 2019. However, this is yet to be officially confirmed by JAMB.
JAMB Fixes 2019 Mock Exam March 23rd
Candidates should not wait until the last minute to start preparing for the exam. If you are taking the 2019 UTME, you will be doing yourself a whole lot of good by downloading the 2019 JAMB CBT Mobile App or the JAMB CBT Software for Computers. In a statement by the JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin, 2019 UTME Candidates have been urged to guard all their details pertaining to the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME/DE) Direct Entry.
He reminded the candidates that the purpose of the mock exam is to ascertain the readiness of its system for the exam and help candidates especially those not to familiar with CBT to get themselves acquainted with it.
He debunked the rumour that that marks from the mock examination would be added to scores obtained in the main examination.

Information contained in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's weekly bulletin issued on Sunday in Lagos expressed the board's decision not to reverse the use of biometrics in the conduct of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
It noted that the introduction of the Biometric Verification Machine was an attempt to get rid of various foms of examination malpractice.
JAMB Says the Adoption of Biometrics for UTME is Here to Stay
It stated that the BVM was a security mechanism for the authentification of the identity of candidates as it provided access to individuals data, based on physiological characteristics, and this guards against counterfeiting and impersonation.
The board stated the the biometic security was surely a breakthrough, because the fingerprint recognition technology provides a high level of security as it is impossible to alter data already captured.
Based on the confidence in this system, the board says the adoption of biometrics in the conduct of its examinations is here to stay, and also went ahead to reassure candidates that their fingerprints would not be used for any other purpose except identification.

How To Prepare for JAMB Exam Few Weeks To The Date
Here are the tricks and tweaks;
1. Focus More On JAMB syllabus 
 When you want to read your textbooks or notebooks, don't just read blindly from different topics,  Using JAMB syllabus to narrow your reading is very helpful.  In the JAMB syllabus,  the topics to be studied are outline and whatever you need to know on the topic is also outlined.  This will help you read straightforward not blindly.
2.  Use The JAMB Past Questions More Frequently
 The truth is there is no longer new questions,  JAMB keeps recycling questions every year. Take advantage of this and study the Past Questions more frequently, this will make it easier for you if you come across same kind of question you saw in the past questions.  Sometimes, JAMB doesn't repeat the questions word for word, that's  why it is important you revise the past questions diligently. The spokesman of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr Fabian Benjamin has stated that due to the fact that the date for the 2019 UTME has not been officially confirmed, the reprinting of the 2019 exam slip will not possibly commence on March 2nd, 2019 as earlier envisaged.
He said as it is now, no date has been fixed for the main examination and there is no way anybody can print examination notification slip when the examination date, itself, has not been fixed.
Date For Reprinting of 2019 JAMB Exam Slip Has Not Been Confirmed - JAMB
He added that when the actual date for the 2019 UTME has been finally determined, the reprinting of the exam slip will commence two weeks to that date.
The fact that the actual JAMB exam date has not been determined does not mean that candidates should relax on their preparations towards the examination. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disclosed that over 1.8 million candidates registered for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. This was disclosed to newsmen by the JAMB's Head of Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Thursday in Abuja.
Dr Fabian said that PIN Vending for the registration ended on February 21st, 2019 but candidates who already purchased the PIN were allowed to still access the registration portal.
JAMB Concludes 2019 UTME Registration, Over 1.8 Million Candidates Registered
He however added that the registration portal finally closed 12 midnight, February 25th, 2019; indicating that registration for 2019 UTME has been concluded.
Benjamin said that the registration was a huge success, adding that there were no hitches at all across the various accredited registration centres nationwide.

JAMB is still looking to confirm the dates for the 2019 Mock and Main Exams. This means the actual dates for both modes of exams (Mock & Main) will be confirmed and announced soon by the board. The Board urged all candidates to disregard all the rumours being bandied around and wait for any new dates of the 2019 Mock and UTME that would be announced in due course.
This information was released in the JAMB Bulletin for 25th February, 2019. The publication became necessary following rumuors being circulated about specific new dates for the Mock and Main Exam.
