The post utme of most universities have been cancelled
(except those that have written)
Many aspirants have been wondering how the universities
would use their utme score to get their aggregate
score….many have concluded that they would increase the
utme cutoff to 250,280 or whatsoever. But this is not represent
It is you o'level results that would be used to get your cutoff
C6 – 2pt, c5 – 4pt, c4- 6pt b3- 8pt B2- 10pt A1-12pt
For the 5 o'level subjects required for your course. Each
grade would be represent a point (refer to the quoted text)
above
How to calculate your UI aggregate score
1. Sum up all the points corresponding to the grades you
have in your o'level
2. Divide your utme score by 8
3. Sum up 1 and 2.
4. Divide by 110
5. Multiply by 100
Example
Utme score- 230
O level results-. A1,B2,B3,C4 and C6
1. 230÷8= 29
2. A1= 12 points
B2= 10 points
B3= 8 points
C4= 6 points
C6= 2 points
Total= 38 points
3. 29+38=67
4. 67/110= 0.61
5. 0.61* 100= 61%

Volume of E used=(2nd+3rd)titre/2

=(38.70/2)cm^3
Volume of E used=19.35cm^3
Hence VE=19.35cm^3
(1bi)
From the information given,
nD=1, nE=2,
CD=?, CE=0.0905mol/dm^3
VD=20.0cm^3, VE=19.35cm^3
Using: CDVD/CEVE=nD/nE
CD=CEVEnD/VDnE
=(0.0905*19.35*1)/(20.0*2)
=1.751175/40

CD=0.0438mol/dm^3
(1bii)
Since 0.04377mol is in 1000cm^3
xmol will be 350cm^3
x=0.04377*35.0/1000

=0.00153mol/dm^3 at 25C
Hence the solubility is 0.00153mol/dm^3
(1biii)
From the stoichiometry
1 mole of Na2CO3 produces 1 mole of CO2
0.00153mol of Na2CO3 produces 0.00153mole of
CO2
mass=molar mass*number of mole
molar mass Na2CO3=23*2+12+16*3
=46+12+48
=106g/mol
mass of CO2=12+16*2
=12+32
=44g/mol
106g Na2CO3 produces 44g of CO2
0.0153*106 will produce y
y=0.153*106*44/106
=0.153*44
y=6.732g of CO2
Hence mass of CO2 produced is 6.732g

Temperature is the degree of hotness or coldness of a body
or an object.It is measured with thermometer
3b)
As height or altitudes increases,temperature
decreases.hence for every 100metres of
ascent,temperature decreases by 0.65 degrees celcius or 1
degrees celcius for approximately 160metres of ascent.The
decrease in temperature with increasing elevation is called
lapse rate
3c)
Town A:
Temp=50C
Height=sea level
Town B:
Temp=?
Height=4000m above sea level
Recall 1C=160m
Tb=4000m
(Tb*160)/160=(4000*1)/160
Tb=25C
Therefore the temperature of town B is 25 degrees celcius

Weathering is the gradual breaking down or
disintegration of rocks by either physical
(mechanical) or chemical process
(4b)
(i) Hydration
(ii) Oxidation
(iii) Carbonation
(4c)
This occurs in polar and temperate regions of
the world where rocks on high mountains with
cracks or joints collect water or snow in them.
When the temperature drops during the night
or winter, the water in the cracks freezes and
melts during the day or summer. Such repeated
freezing and melting widen and deepen the
cracks which eventually breakdown the rock.
The pieces of rocks which peel off from the rock
surface accumulate at the care of the mountain
to form screes.

1a " Cathode rays" are simply beams of electrons.
The name exists because cathode ray devices
predate the discovery of the electron. The sharp
shadows produced by Crookes tubes meant that
something was travelling in a straight line from the
cathode down the tube, so they were named
cathode rays .

stationary wave – is a wave in a medium in which
each point on the axis of the wave has an

12a . decay constant is define as the
instantaneous rate of decay per unit atom of a
substance.
12bii) Control rods are used for maintaining the
desired state of fission reactions within a
nuclear reactor (i.e. subcritical state, critical
state, power changes) They constitute a key
component of an
emergency shutdown system (SCRAM) .
Control rods are rods, plates, or tubes
containing a neutron absorbing material
(material with high absorbtion cross-section for
thermal neutron) such as boron , hafnium,
cadmium , etc., used to control the power of a
nuclear reactor. By absorbing neutrons, a
control rod prevents the
neutrons from causing further fission

Sound Waves
1. Require a medium.
2. Travel with a speed of 332 m/s at 0 C.
3. Are longitudinal waves consisting of
compressions and rarefactions.
Light Waves
1. Do not require a medium
2. Travel with a speed of 3 *10 8 m/s.
3. Are electromagnetic waves consisting of
varying electric and magnetic fields.

1.Control account used to record the balances on a number of
subsidiary accounts and to provide a cross-check on them.
uses of control account
1. Check on the accuracy
2. Location of errors
3. For internal check
4. More Simply and Quickly
C.Limitations of accounting ratio
(1) Ratios are based on accounting figures given in the
financial statements. However, accounting figures are
themselves subject to deficiencies, approximations, diversity
in practice or even manipulation to some extent. Therefore,
ratios are not very helpful in drawing reliable conclusions.
2) Ratios have inherent problem of comparability. Companies
otherwise similar may employ different accounting methods,
which can cause problems in comparing certain key
relationships. For example, inventory turnover can be
different for a company using FIFO than for the other
company using LIFO method of inventory valuation.
3) Accounting ratios are not totally dependable and they must
be used after giving due weight- age to general economic
conditions, industry situation, position of firms within the
industry, mode of operations, size of firm, diversity of
product which can make the business enterprises completely
dissimilar and thus affect the computation of accounting
ratios.
=============================
2a. Working capital is the amount of a company's current
assets minus the amount of its current liabilities.
2b. Capital employed, also known as funds employed, is the
total amount of capital used for the acquisition of profits. It is
the value of all the assets employed in a business and can be
calculated by adding fixed assets to working capital or
subtracting current liabilities from total assets.
2c. A fixed asset is an item with a useful life greater than one
reporting period, and which exceeds an entity's minimum
capitalization limit .
2d. A current asset is cash and any other company asset that
will be turning to cash within one year from the date shown in
the heading of the company's balance sheet. (If a company
has an operating cycle that is longer than one year, an asset
that will turn to cash within the length of its operating cycle
is considered to be a current asset.)
2e. The rate of stock turnover is a measure of the number of
times inventory is sold or used in a time period such as a
year. The equation for inventory turnover equals the cost of
goods sold or net sales divided by the average inventory.
====================
3a. The accrual concept in accounting means that expenses
and revenues are recorded in the period they occur, whether
or not cash is involved.
3b. The business entity concept states that the transactions
associated with a business must be separately recorded from
those of its owners or other businesses. Doing so requires the
use of separate accounting records for the organization that
completely exclude the assets and liabilities of any other
entity or the owner.
3c. Dual Aspect Concept, also known as Duality Principle, is
a fundamental convention of accounting that necessitates the
recognition of all aspects of an accounting transaction.
3d. PERIODICITY CONCEPT is the concept that each
accounting period has an economic activity associated with
it, and that the activity can be measured, accounted for, and
reported upon.
3e. The going concern principle is the assumption that an
entity will remain in business for the foreseeable future.
Conversely, this means the entity will not be forced to halt
operations and liquidate its assets in the near term at what
may be very low fire-sale prices.
============================
4a)
A company is a legal entity made up of an association of
persons, be they natural, legal, or a mixture of both, for
carrying on a commercial or industrial enterprise.
4bi) An ordinary share represents equity ownership in a
company proportionally with all other ordinary shareholders,
according to their percentage ownership in the company. All
other shares of a company's stock are, by
definition , preferred shares
4b(ii)Preference shares, more commonly referred to as
preferred stock, are shares of a company's stock with
dividends that are paid out to shareholders before common
stock dividends are issued. If the company enters bankruptcy,
the shareholders with preferred stock are entitled to be paid
from company assets first.
4b(iii) A debenture is a type of debt instrument that is not
secured by physical assets or collateral.
Debentures are backed only by the general creditworthiness
and reputation of the issuer. Both corporations and
governments frequently issue this type of bond to secure
capital.
4b(iv) The authorised capital of a company (sometimes
referred to as the authorised share capital, registered capital
or nominal
capital, particularly in the United States) is the maximum
amount of share capital that the company is authorised by its
constitutional documents to issue (allocate) to shareholders.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
has finally released the modalities for this
year's admission process, in other words, the
method of admission.
We would like to educate the Jambites and
other DE candidates on how it is done.
This new method uses a point system that is
easy to understand, the whole process is
divided into main points as follows;
1) Before a candidate can be considered for
screening, he/she must have been given
provisional admission by Jamb. The Jamb
admission checker portal is going to be opened
soon for this process, so praying is all you can do
now.
2) THE POINT SYSTEM:
This is the most critical part of the process.
Jamb's provisional admission no longer makes
much sense this year, your points tally will
decide your faith. The points are evenly spread
out between your O'level and Jamb results to
provide a level playing field for all.
In the first case, any candidate who submits
only one result which contains his/her relevant
subjects already has 10points, the exam could
be NECO, WAEC, GCE etc, but any candidate
who has 2 sittings only gets 2 points. So this
means that aspirants with only one result are at
an advantage but only just.
The next point grades fall into the O'level
grades. Each grades has it's equivalent point,
A=6 marks, B=4 marks, C=3 marks, so the better
your grades the better your chances.
The next point is the UTME scores. Each score
range has its equivalent point which can be
summarized thus, 180-200=20-23 marks,
200-250=24-33 points, 251-300=34-43,
300-400=44-60 points. Each categories contains 5
Jamb results per point added, for example a
candidate with 180-185 gets 20points, a
candidate with 186-190 gets 21 points etc.
Points system for DE will be released soon.
3) It then comes down to the fact that fees will
still be charged for screening, it depends on the
school as well.
4) Catchment and Educational Less Developed
State ELDS will still be used! Merit contains 45%
of the total candidates for a particular course,
Catchment contains 35% and ELDS and staff
lists contains the rest.
5) Cutoff marks will be released by schools this
year in the form of points and not marks. If a
school declares it's cutoff mark for Medicine as
90 points and Jamb grants a candidate with 250
a provisional admission but his/her total points
falls short of the 90 points, then he/she will lose
the admission. So the provisional admission is
just a means to an end, not the end in itself.
Good Luck Guys
*The modality for candidates' screening in all
universities is out now on jamb's site, pls check
and download.*
*PROPOSED JAMB MODEL FOR SCREENING OF
RECOMMENDED CANDIDATES*
_1.Screening of candidates shall be for those
offered *Provisional Admissions* ONLY._
_1.No *written examination* to be conducted._
_2.Verification of Course Requirements levels or
levels)._
_3.Verification of valid JAMB results by
checking:_
_i.Online Result Slip_ _ii.Printout_
_iii.Provisional Admission Letter_
_iv.Photo Album_
_v.Check list_
_vi.Biometrics_
*5.Institutions are free to source from other
Course(s) to compensate for SHORTFALL in any
of the criteria.*
If you have 1 sitting.. it's automatically 10 like
dah for you
Calculate you O'level aggregate of the 5 subject
A1 = 6
B2, B3 = 4
C4,C5,C6 = 3
Let's say one has 2 A's and 3 B's
6+6+4+4+4 = 24
Assuming one had 250
In utme = 33
Add all together
10 +24 + 33 = 67
Aggregate = 67
For jamb
Soo for jamb
180-185=20pts
186-190=21pts
191-195=22pts
196-200=23pts
201-205=24pts
206-210=25pts...
In the order above
to make the 60points obtainable for
396-400=60pts..
For instance, an aspirant with 1 sittings O'level
(10pts) 2 A1s(12pts) 3Cs(9pts) and 292 in jamb
(42pts) will then have a total screening score of
73%

ESSAY ANSWERS
(NO.2)
Illegal immigration is defined as the act of
someone staying in a given country without the
country's official permission. This happens when
one illegally enters a given country, or overstays
upon expiry of a visa.
Illegal immigration poses both positive and
negative effects on the illegal immigrant as well as
the country of illegal immigration. One of the
positive effects is that illegal immigrants end up
boosting the local economy. For instance, illegal
immigrants in the U.S.A. are said to have
contributed around USD 300 billion to the Social
Security Trust Fund. Given that illegal immigrants
are not entitled to various benefits, some
companies capitalize on this fact to save on labor
costs.
Further, illegal immigrants take up low-end jobs
that do not attract locals. This helps avert a
potential workforce vacuum in the lower end of
the job market. It is also significant to note that
most of the illegal immigrants immigrate in search
of a better life abroad.
One of the negative effects of illegal immigration is
the exertion of pressure on a given country's
resources. Essential social amenities like hospitals
and schools can end up being overwhelmed
because of users that were not planned for. Given
that illegal immigrants need basic supplies like
food, health services and shelter, their influx is
likely to stretch the available resources. In some
cases, this may end up creating a conflict between
the host communities and the illegal immigrants.
Further, the illegal status of the illegal immigrants
can subject them to mistreatment from the local
host community. Given their legal status,
immigrants find it hard to report to the police for
fear of deportation. Some locals take advantage of
this situation to extort and mistreat the illegal
immigrants. Cases of moral and physical abuse of
illegal immigrants are a common occurrence in
some countries. However, they end up suffering in
silence.
Further still, illegal immigrants are said to exert
competition on job opportunities for the locals.
Some employers are keen to tap on cheap labor
provided by the illegal immigrants at the expense
of the locals. In conclusion, illegal immigration can
take both the positive and negative dimension in
terms of its consequences. From the discussion,
the negative effects are more than the positive
effects of illegal immigration. World governments
should address the factors leading to illegal
